Evelyn Santiago

After leaving her hometown in the Echo Park area, Evelyn Santiago shifted to Illinois to pursue her bachelor studies of Elementary Education, Social Service, Anthropology, and Sociology, with a particular focus on special education in the nonprofit setting. In college, Evelyn spent much of her spare time teaching and working with both special needs children and adults alike. Upon returning to Echo Park in 2016, she continued to assist those with special needs via her involvement in KEEN LA, where she pioneered the early stages of the Coaches Committee through her work as both an intern and later, a Program Coordinator. After stepping away from KEEN LA briefly, she has returned to continue her special needs work in her LA community as a volunteer Coach and active member of the Coaches Committee.
